Computer wakes up to perform scheduled tasks

I recently upgraded my computer from an older one that I had upgraded to Windows 7 with a clean install.
My new computer is a Dell which came with Windows 7 preinstalled.
On my old computer when the computer woke up in the middle of the night to perform
scheduled tasks the monitor did not come on, only the the cpu.
On the new computer when it wakes up to perform scheduled tasks the monitor comes on.
How can I change the settings so the the monitor will not come on when the computer has woken up only to perform
scheduled tasks? Thank you.

When the computer wakes up after performing  any task it will turn on the the monitor.
The only way  to avoid this is to power off the monitor .
