Cannot log off from the user account

I have tried to log off but when i go to the Windows icon and aat the bottom I click log off nothing happens

Are the other options like switch user, hibernate, etc working properly?
Method 1:
You may check if you are getting any errors in the Event viewer and if you are getting any, do let us know the details.
To open event viewer follow the below mentioned steps:
a.
Click the Start button then click Control Panel in this click System and Maintenance.
b.Now click Administrative Tools, and then double-click
Event Viewer.‌ If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c.
Click an event log in the left pane.
Double-click an event to view the details of the event.

Method 2:
If issue persists, you can force shut down and then boot in safe mode.
Check if you can log off.In Safe mode; you have access to only basic files and drivers.

Method 3:
Also I would suggest you to check if you face the same issue in different user account or new administrator account.
You may create a new user account on your computer and then check.
