Recently, my machine left on a tangent.  It seems when I want it to either standby or shutdown, it won't do so.  Before I leave, I bring my cursor to the lower right hand corner so that it brings the main bar into play.  At the bottom I highlight the Settings
menu; which gives the submenu of Sleep, Shutdown, Restart and the such.  Now, when I highlight the Settings menu, it won't let me to the submenus.  It just takes me to the desktop.  The only way to shut my machine down is through the Key-In process.  ALT-CTRL-DELETE
and highlight the icon at lower right corner of the desktop.  It shows the menu of Sleep, Shutdown or Restart.
Also, on another note, at the same point in time, my Lifecam stopped working.  When I bootup my machine, the blue light on the camera in the bootup process appears.  When it's done, I go into my Start menu and highlight either the LifeCam icon or Camera
icon; nothing happens.  I'd like to print a pic of my daughter for her kindergarten class.  It is homework for the first day of class this Thursday.
