DateMonth () not a defined sub?

I am getting a "Sub or Function not defined" error when compiling my project.
The module in question is as follows:

Public Function MonthNames()

s1 = DateMonth()
s2 = (DateMonth()) + 1
s3 = (DateMonth()) + 2

End Function

When I get the definition for DateMonth, it says "Identifier under cursor is not recognized".
I thought DateMonth was a standard function in Access? I didn't think you had to define functions that were built-in...
It seems like this function has been working
properly for years and only recently (a week?) has it been causing compile errors.

Ideas?

DateMonth is not a built in function. If you want the month of the current date it would be

Month(Date)
